Police arrested Gerald Hoffman for stealing Walmart merchandise valued at $203.97.
Police arrested Nathan Bowers from Carlisle, for stealing�merchandise from the Kohl's Department Store. The value of the stolen merchandise is $46. A preliminary hearing will be scheduled with District Judge Silcox.
On 08/29/2014 a residence in Silver Spring Township was broken into and electronics and jewelry were stolen from inside. The investigation of this incident led to Luis Ruiz of Carlisle being charged as the person resonsible. Ruiz is being charged with burglary, criminal trespass and theft.
Silver Spring Twp. Police are investigating an attempted burglary at the AT&T store located at 6416 Carlisle Pike. At 0303 hrs. officers responded to a burglar alarm at the business & on arrival discovered that the glass in the front door had been shattered. Theft, Access device Fraud, Identity Theft
On 11/10/14, around 6:30pm, the above pictured black female stole a wallet from a shopper who was inside of AC Moore at 6520 Carlisle Pike. Both suspects pictured above then went to Target, Old Navy, and Wal-Mart in Carlisle. The suspects used the victim’s stolen credit cards to purchase over $2,500 worth of merchandise. The suspects were operating the pictured SUV.

Theft from vehicles
On Tuesday 11/11/2014 the Police Department received complaints of vehicles that were entered overnight and items stolen. All of the vehicles entered were not locked. The items taken included a handgun, wallets, and change. The vehicles were in the North Locust Point Road and Ridgehill Road vicinity.
The Police Department encourages vehicle owners to remove valuable items and to lock their vehicles.

Retail theft, Possession of a controlled substance
On 11/10/14, at approximately 03:11pm, Heidi Cassell of Lewisberry was arrested for retail theft after Cassell concealed DVDs in her purse and attempted to leave the Target store at 6416 Carlisle Pike without paying for them. Cassell was also found to be in possession of heroin. Charges for retail theft, possession of a controlled substance, and paraphernalia will be filed.
On 10/31/14 Officers were dispatched to Walmart at 6520 Carlisle Pike for an active retail theft. On arrival, Officers were advised that the suspect was fleeing on foot towards Pizza Hut. Officers found the suspect running towards 114. George H Nevius was taken into custody without incident. A needle was found on his possession. He was transported to the Cumberland County Prison for processing on Retail Theft and Drug Paraphernalia.
On Friday, June 13th, at about 0130 hours the female suspect pictured above attempted to steal items, including multiple televisions, from Walmart at 6520 Carlisle Pike. A store associate interrupted the theft and stopped the suspect from taking some of the items. The female got into a white Ford Explorer SUV driven by a white male and the two then fled the area. It is believed that the suspects are from the Carlisle area. Update - The female suspect was described as being about 5 feet tall and was to have walked in a manner that resembles waddling.
On 11/4/14 at 5:33 PM officers were dispatched to Wegman's located in the 6400 block of the Carlisle Pike for an active retail theft. On arrival officers were advised that the suspect, identifed as Nigel M. Patterson (22) of the 1st block of Lakepoint Dr. Harrisburg had pushed a cart full of items from the store valued at $489.00 dollars and failed to pay for the items. Patterson was arrested and transported to the Cumberland Co. Booking Center on a charge of retail theft,.
October 31, 2014
Melissa Dunn of Harrisburg was arrested early Friday morning after police observed her driving erratically in the area of Conodoguinet Parkway and Bent Creek BLVD. Dunn displayed signs of intoxication and was arrested at the scene.
Theft by Deception
Rebecca Mae Baker (25) of Mechanicsburg was charged with Theft by Deception after she selected items from the shelf at Wal-Mart, did not pay for them, and then made a fraudulent return of those items at the customer service desk. She was issued a store gift card which she then used to make other purchases. Wal-Mart’s Asset Protection reported the fraud and, as a result, Baker was charged.
One count of theft by deception was filed against Baker with MDJ Silcox.
On Wednesday, October 15th, 2014, Sean Conner Richwine entered Wal-Mart and selected items of merchandise from display. Store security observed Richwine removed the merchadise from its packaging and then conceal it on his person. Richwine was issued a summary citation for retail theft.
Retail Theft & Public Drunkeness
On Saturday, October 11th, 2014, Robert Simpkins IV entered the Wal-Mart located at 6520 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg, selected a coat from display and put it on. He then removed a can of compressed air from display and walked through the store inhaling the air to acheive a state of intoxication. Simpkins then exited the store without paying for the coat. Charges filed at the office of District Judge Silcox.
On 10/16/2014 police were dispatched to a road rage incident on the Carlisle Pike in the area of North Locust Point Rd. It was learned that while Christopher Wells was driving his vehicle he swerved at another vehicle several times and then exited his vehicle and confronted the driver of the other vehicle when they were later stopped at a red traffic light. Wells is being charged with terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct, harassment and reckless driving.
Suspects from Retail Theft were identified as Chelsea Caldwell of Carlisle and Rebecca Baker of Mechanicsburg. Both will be charged with Retail Theft.
Silver Spring Township Police is requesting assistance in identifying the above pictured two individuals. On Sunday, 10/19/14, at approximately 7:05pm, two females are suspected of leaving the Wal-Mart at 6520 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg with merchandise that they did not pay for. They left the store in a Red Pontiac Grand Am that had PA Registration “JNJ8313” and a temporary registration paper in the bottom left corner of the rear window.

On 10/23/14, at approximately 05:40pm, Michael Siluk III of Marysville was arrested for Retail Theft after he was caught by management leaving Giant, 6560 Carlisle Pike, with items that he did not pay for.
On 10/13/14, at approximately 05:39pm, Jacquelin Kirby and Kristina Bretz of Carlisle were caught by Loss Prevention at Kohl’s, 6444 Carlisle Pike, leaving the store with merchandise that they did not pay for. Summary citations for Retail Theft were filed against the two individuals.
Theft of an ipad
The Silver Spring Twp Police is requesting assistance in identifying the pictured individual. This young man is wanted for questioning regarding the theft of an ipad from an employee at Sleepy's, located at 6416 Carlisle Pk, Mechanicsburg, PA. The young man is described as being 16-20 years old, 5'5" to 5'8" tall, approx 130 lbs, wearing a navy blue sweat shirt, camouflage long shorts, and a black baseball cap with a flat brim. He was riding/carrying a blue plastic skateboard with a pointed front end. He was seen in Best Buy and around the Silver Spring Plaza area.

Retail theft, Possession of a controlled substance
On 10/18/14, at approximately 09:50pm, Amanda Hughes of Shermans Dale and Julio Rivera of Harrisburg were arrested for retail theft after Hughes concealed items inside of her purse at Wal-Mart, 6520 Carlisle Pike, and left the store without paying for them. Hughes was also found to be in possession of heroin and will also be charged with possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia.
John Grosz from Mechanicsburg, was arrested for DUI after he struck another vehicle on the Hogestown Rd. The other vehicle was stopped for a red traffic signal, and Grosz bumped into the rear of the other vehicle. Grosz departed the scene as the other driver was calling the police, and Grosz did not provide his information to the other driver. The police went to his home within minutes of the accident, and found that Grosz was under the influence of alcohol to a degree that rendered him incapable of safely operating his vehicle. Grosz was taken to the Cumberland County Booking Center for processing.

Hit & Run Crash
On 10/15/2014 at about 0700 hours a silver vehicle resembling a Chevrolet Cruze rear ended another vehicle on Route 114 at the traffic light at Route 11. This silver vehicle then fled the area of the crash. The vehicle is believed to have noticeable front end damage from the collision. On October 28, the above pictured man was caught on Wegmans video surveillance using his phone to take inappropriate pictures of female patron. Silver Spring Police is asking for the public’s assistance in helping to identify the unknown male.

THEFT OF WHEELS
On the night of Friday 9/26/14 or the early morning hours of 9/27/14, a theft occurred at Faulkner Auto Group located at 6416 Carlisle Pike. Four wheels were stolen off of a black and red 2014 Fiat Abarth.

Retail Theft from Wal-Mart
Police are seeking the identity of the a black male who entered the Wal-Mart located at 6520 Carlisle Pike on Thursday, 9/18/14, on or about 12:14pm. The suspect removed electronic merchandise from display, placed it into a shopping cart, and then walked out of the store without making payment. The suspect was seen departing in a modified import sedan, possibly gold in color.

Attempt to Identify
Police are attempting to identify this female teddy bear and return her to her owner. She was discovered by an officer on patrol in the 6600 block of Carlisle Pike in the southbound lane. She was found in a white plastic bag that also contained a sleeping bag, sheets and pillows. It is suspected that the teddy bear and other items may have fallen off of a passing vehicle on its way to or returning from a sleep over.
The teddy bear is currently in good spirits and is anxious to return home.

Retail Theft from Wal-Mart
On Thursday night 09/11/2014, at approximately 2037, the above pictured female walked into Walmart and stole a night vision trail camera and other items by concealing them in her purse. She proceeded to leave the store and get into a silver Hyundai, possibly an Accent, and sped off. The suspect has been identified as Sheri Wolaver of Elliotsburg. Wolaver has been charged with one count each of Retail Theft and Possession of Instruments of Crime. The Silver Spring Twp Police extends their appreciation for the information provided by the public.
On August 24th, the above pictured male walked into Walmart, removed a bicycle from the display and pushed it out of the store. Police believe this is the same male from August 2nd that did the same thing. The Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the male.
