Burglary

On April 18th, 2014 Silver Spring Township Police were dispatched to Bombay Junction located at 6444 Carlisle Pike for a non-active burglary. It was determined that someone gained access to the business by breaking the front glass door. While inside the suspect(s) took a cash register with a small amount of cash inside. This burglary took place in between the hours of April 17th, 2014 around 11:00PM to April 18th, 2014 around 10:00AM. Help to identify retail theft suspects

Silver Spring Twp Police are investigating two Retail Thefts from Kohl’s. One occurred on 4/11/2014 involving a male and a female. The other occurred on 4/15/2014. The female involved in the first Retail was also involved in the second one and was with another female.



On both incidents, the suspects left in a Black Pontiac G-5. Anyone with any information about the identities of the pictured suspects should contact Officer Craven at 717-238-9676.


Vehicles entered, theft

Between Wednesday 4/9/2014 and Thursday 4/10/2014 multiple unlocked vehicles were entered on Cromwell Court, Mechanicsburg and items were stolen. The items consisted of loose change and a military style rifle that was in a case. The township police are urging residence to keep their vehicles locked and to remove valuable items from their vehicles.

Pedestrian Stuck

The Silver Spring Twp Police is investigating a pedestrian struck incident which occurred at Cumberland Valley High School.



The victim, a 16 year old juvenile, was struck by a tan mini van operated by a white female, approx 40-50 years of age.  The driver did stop and offer assistance but then departed the scene without providing any information.  The victim suffered minor injuries.

A township resident reported that their credit card number was unlawfully used at several Macys stores in the greater Harrisburg area. The two suspects pictured above are suspected of using the card numbers to make unauthorized purchases with the victim's credit card. Silver Spring Township Police have been actively investigating the disappearance of Township resident Rabihan Seiders, 53 years of age resided with her husband at 100 Willow Mill Park Road. Seiders sometimes used her maiden name, Hasanova. Seiders can not be accounted for after the evening of March 27, 2012. Her last known whereabouts was in Silver Spring Township, Mechanicsburg, PA. It is believed that Seiders met with foul play.

Silver Spring Township Police Department is attempting to identify the above pictured male. The male is suspected of stealing merchandise from Target. The vehicle involved is a grey or silver SUV. Update - The suspect has been identified as Derek Ammerman (22) of Mechanicsburg. He was charged with one misdemeanor count of retail theft.

On this date a male entered the Best Buy store at 6416 Carlisle Pike and attempted to buy two iPads with counterfeit currency. When employees became suspicious of the currency the male fled from the store. The male was to be between 50 and 55 years old, about 5' 9", wearing glasses, was possibly Hispanic and had a New York accent. He fled the area in a silver Chrysler minivan bearing a NY state registration plate. Anyone with information please call Officer Christopher Butler at (717) 697-0607 EXT 2009.

UPDATE -  The suspects have been identified as Nakisha Petro, Amanda Stetler, and Daniel Markle of Mechanicsburg. All three were cited for retail theft.

At approximately 740 pm on December 28th and unknown male stole a TV from WalMart.  Police are asking for the publics assistance in identifying the actor.  He was driving a gold or silver (POSSIBLY) Oldsmobile car that appears to have a sunroof.  If you have any information regarding the identity of the actor please contact the Silver Spring Police at 697-0607 or anonymously at 591-8242.

Retail Theft and Attempted Theft by Deception

The Silver Spring Township Police are seeking assistance from the public in identifying a white male who entered the Wal-Mart located at 6520 Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg, and removed two buckets of paint from display.  The male first attempted to return the items at the Customer Service desk but then exited the store without making payment.  The male fled the scene in silver Chrysler PT Cruiser bearing a temporary registration of ZDV-9467.

Retail theft from Wal-Mart

On November 22, 2013 at approximately 7:22 PM the above pictured female entered Wal-Mart, selected a Kitchen Aid mixer and left the store without paying.



The female is described as being white, 20-30 years old, 5’5” to 5’8” tall, 115 to 125 lbs and had long dark brown hair pulled into a pony tail. She was wearing blue jeans with holes in them and a black jacket with a hood which had fur around the edge.



The truck appears to be a dark colored, early to mid 1990’s, Ford F-150.� The truck may have a large dent of the passenger side above the rear wheel.

On 11-3-13 a customer entered Walmart 18:21 grabbing a cart on his way in. As soon as he entered the he turned left and selected a chainsaw. He then walked to other side of the lawn and garden department and selected 3 Razor scooters. He then leaves the cart and goes to the door to make sure there was no one watching. He then walks back into the store and collects the cart with the merchandise. He then walks out the garden center exit and loads the items in his car. Quick Change Scam

On October 23rd, 2013 Silver Spring Township Police were advised of a quick change scam that occurred at Walmart located at 6520 Carlisle Pike. On October 19, 2013 two black males entered the store. One of the black males was able to scam money from a cashier. Sliver Spring Twp Police are seeking the identity of this female in reference to theft, fraudulent credit card use and forgery which occurred on 7/25/13. This unknown female made purchases totaling $4,633.10 at the following businesses: Exxon and Wine and Spirits, both in Camp Hill, also Home Depot, Harbour House Crabs, Kmart, Toys r Us, and Best Buy, all in Mechanicsburg, as well as Target on Old Jones Town Rd. Some of the items purchased include multiple Playstation 3s, 2 nail guns valued at $400.00 each, a black Samsung Galaxy S 4 phone valued at $794.99 and multiple Gift cards to various restaurants an businesses.
