In the morning of 08/26/2014 the above pictured male walked into Walmart and stole a laptop and packages of bagels by concealing them in a piece of luggage that was also stolen from the store and walking out of the door. The male arrived and departed in a Harrisburg City Cabs cab. On 08/25/2014 at around 1540 hours the above pictured male and female walked into Kohls at 6444 Carlisle Pike and while they were inside of the store the female concealed merchandise upon her. The two then exited the store without paying for the items. They refused to comply with loss prevention when they were asked to stop and fled the area in a white Subaru Forester registered out of Harrisburg, PA. Mechanicsburg man arrested for DUI

On Sunday, August 17, 2014, Silver Spring Police were dispatched to be on the lookout for a reckless driver in the area of Condoguinet Pkwy and Honey Locust.  Patrol units were able to identify the suspected vehicle and initiate a traffic stop in the 200 block of Hogestown road.  Officers made contact with the driver who was identified as Shawn T Smeigh of Mechanicsburg.  Smeigh was subsequently arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.  Smeigh was transported to Cumberland County Prison to be processed and released.

Update -The suspect has been identified as Richard A Blystone. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.



On 08/20/2014 the above pictured male attempted to break into several locked game console displays at Walmart to steal the items inside. He was not successful and damaged several of the displays. He has been seen recently in the area holding a homemade sign soliciting for donations. UPDATE: ON 8/21/14 BUSHMAN TURNED HIMSELF IN TO SILVER SPRING POLICE





David Bushman, age 25, of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania is wanted by Silver Spring Township Police on kidnapping, false imprisonment and theft charges.The charges stem from an incident which occurred on August 20, 2014. Bushman is accused of duct taping a victim to a chair inside of a residence in Silver Spring Township. Bushman also placed duct tape around the victim's head and mouth, as well as legs. Bushman stole a cell phone and a credit card from within the residence. There is an active arrest warrant for Bushman. The current whereabouts of Bushman are unknown and police are requesting assistance from the public with locating him.

On 8/01/14 a female, possibly hispanic, female entered the Wal-Mart located at 6520 Carlisle Pike and selected merchandise from display. She then took the merchanidse to the Customer Service counter and fraudulently returned the item for a gift card. The suspect was accompanied by a young female child and departed the scene in a black GMC SUV.

The Silver Spring Township Police Department is investigating a theft of around $1000 worth of prepaid phones from Wal-Mart that occurred on August 14th, 2014 around 0145 hours. The pictured male and the pictured female are wanted for questioning about the theft. Silver Spring Twp Police are investigating the theft of a stool from Walmart. It was the stool that the Greeter normally utilizes while working near the entry/exit doors. The pictures show the suspect was with a female when the theft occurred. After leaving the store the male put it in the rear seat of what appears to be a silver/tan/or gold older model Honda Civic. Police were notified of a theft that occurred on 5/9/2014. The pictured suspects switched the price tags on electronic items in Walmart, the suspects were successful at scamming Walmart for several hundred dollars. The following day, the female attempted to retain an additional item with the receipt. They were driving the pictured Cadillac Escalade. Theft From a Motor Vehicle

On 07/19/2014, police were dispatched to 6557 Carlisle Pike, Kentucky Fried Chicken, for a theft from a motor vehicle.  The pictured suspect was  seen walking around a vehicle that was not his in the parking lot, then entering the KFC to abruptly leave.  The suspect was then seen entering the vehicle taking several items from it.



 The suspect was a black male wearing baggy blue jeans, white shirt with the word "RISEN" written across the chest with graphics and a solid green hat. The black male was tall in height and slender build. He had white facial hair on his chin and along both cheeks. He also had a black mustache.  He was seen driving a maroon Chevy pick-up truck with writing on both side as well as the back tailgate.  It appears to be a work truck that deals with lawn care.

Access Device Fraud

A Silver Spring Township resident reported unauthorized charges on her debit card.  On Monday 3/31/14, around 06:24pm, the above pictured white male suspect (red hat) used a fraudulent PSECU Debit Card which was created using another person’s PSECU Debit Card Information. The suspect attempted to purchase items at the Home Depot in Lebanon but left when asked for ID. Around 6:40pm, the suspect then went to K-Mart in Lebanon and used the fraudulent PSECU Debit Card to purchase several gift cards.

On Thursday 6/12/14, on or about 2:00 pm, Wal-Mart loss prevention staff observed an unidentified white female placing merchandise into her purse and then exit the store without making payment.

The above pictured suspect, Albed Colon-Ortiz, is wanted for questioning about a retail theft from Sally’s Boutique on 5/30/14 at approximately 05:55pm. On Friday, June 13th, at about 0130 hours the female suspect pictured above attempted to steal items, including multiple televisions, from Walmart at 6520 Carlisle Pike. A store associate interrupted the theft and stopped the suspect from taking some of the items. The female got into a white Ford Explorer SUV drievn by a white male and the two then fled the area. Burglary, theft

The Silver Spring Township police are investigating a burglary and theft on the Hogestown Road that took place during the overnight hours. Someone entered a locked garage and removed a Yamaha PW50 motorcycle, a Suzuki LTZ 400 ATV, both yellow in color, a Stihl back pack blower and a Little Giant ladder. These items were taken to Evergreen Rd and placed into a vehicle.

On Friday, June 6th, 2014, a white male and a white female entered the Best Buy located at 6416 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA. The actors removed several hundred dollars worth of merchandise from its packaging and concealed it on their person. The actors then exited the store without making payment.

On 6/5/2014 at 1:00 P.M. the police was dispatched to a residence on Gunpowder Dr. for a burglar alarm. Once the officers arrived they found that a window had been pryed open. The officers checked the home with K-9 Bruder and no one was found inside the residence. Due to the audible alarm sounding it appears that the intruder was scared away.

Theft By Taking

On Friday, May 9th, 2014, an employee at the Mechanicsburg Wal-Mart left his cell phone on the electronics display table while attending to a customer. On or about 1802 hours a white adolescent male and a black adolescent male removed the phone from the table and the white male concealed the phone in his pocket. Both males exited Walmart at 1808 hours.

On or about 1736 hours, a heavy-set white female is seen stopping at the Direct TV display at the Mechanicsburg Wal-Mart and removing a sales representative’s computer tablet from the display table.  The female concealed the tablet on her person and continued shopping. After making other purchases the female exited the building on or about 1751 hours. This theft was committed in the presence of a juvenile.

Police need assistance to identify this suspect from a Retail Theft at Target.  The suspect stole electronics and then got in the passengers seat of the vehicle shown and fled the store.  The vehicle is likely a newer model Subaru Legacy Station wagon, it is green over silver in color and it may have an exhaust leak or loud exhaust.  If anyone can identify the suspect, please contact Officer Andrew Bassler at 717.591.8240 or abassler@sstwp.org

Thanks to the help of the public, the suspect was identified as Jeffrey L. Morret (59) of Dillsburg. Charges were filed against Morret for theft by unlawful taking.



Silver Spring Township Police Department is attempting to identify the above pictured male. On 4/19/14, the male suspect (pictured above) posed as a shopper by pushing an empty shopping cart around Giant. At approximately 1715hrs, the male suspect then stole a wallet from a female’s shopping cart while she wasn’t looking. The male then left the store with the wallet.

Silver Spring Township Police have been actively investigating the disappearance of Township resident Rabihan Seiders, 53 years of age resided with her husband at 100 Willow Mill Park Road. Seiders sometimes used her maiden name, Hasanova. Seiders can not be accounted for after the evening of March 27, 2012. Her last known whereabouts was in Silver Spring Township, Mechanicsburg, PA. It is believed that Seiders met with foul play.
