On March 9th, 2014 at 0128 hours Silver Spring Township Police located a vehicle parked behind El Rodeo in the 6400 block of the Carlisle Pike. The operator was appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and submitted to field sobriety tests. After performing these tests, it was determined that the operator was under the influence of alcohol such that he was incapable of safely driving a motor vehicle. The driver was arrested at the scene and taken to Cumberland County Booking Center for processing
Gregory Novosel, 34, of Dauphin was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
On 3/09/2014 at 0311 hrs the police were dispatched to 6454 Carlisle Pike for a 3 vehicle accident with injuries. 2 vehicles were stopped for a steady red traffic signal when a mini van driven by Rebecca Delay from Loysville drove into the rear of the middle vehicle pushing it into the first vehicle. Both the driver and passenger of the second vehicle was transported via ambulance to Hershy Medical Center. The driver of the first stopped vehicle was not injured. Delay was arrested at the scene for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and she was transported to the Carlisle Booking Center for processing.
On March 3rd, 2014 at 2136 hours Silver Spring Township Police were dispatched to Kohls located at 6444 Carlisle Pike for an active retail theft. Upon arrival it was determined that two females selected items and left the store without paying. While at the scene the females admitted to stealing other items from the Kohls in Harrisburg and returning them at this Kohls for a store credit. The total value of items stolen was $664.98. Both females were arrested at the scene and transported to Cumberland County Prison.
Heather Miller, 21, of Steelton was charged with retail theft, theft by deception, receiving stolen property, and conspiracy.
Amy Shank, 20, of Steelton was charged with retail theft, theft by deception, receiving stolen property, and conspiracy.
Domestic Violence Arrest. Sarajuan Gilvary and Richard Derr, both of Mechanicsburg were both arrested for Simple Assault and Harassment after a physical altercation inside their home resulting in multiple injuries to both. Both were arrested on scene and transported to Cumberland County Booking. Derr was additionally charged with a probation violation.
On this date a male entered the Best Buy store at 6416 Carlisle Pike and attempted to buy two iPads with counterfeit currency. When employees became suspicious of the currency the male fled from the store. The male was to be between 50 and 55 years old, about 5' 9", wearing glasses, was possibly Hispanic and had a New York accent. He fled the area in a silver Chrysler minivan bearing a NY state registration plate. Anyone with information please call Officer Christopher Butler at (717) 697-0607 EXT 2009.
Interference of the custody of a minor
Tangee Wilson of Shermans Dale was arrested for Interference of the custody of a minor, simple assault and harassment after she attempted to force a juvenile out of a vehicle against her will and injured the juveniles wrist during the incident. This incident occurred at the Turkey Hill, 7040 Wertzville Rd. Wilson was arrest and committed to Cumberland County Prison.
Hit and Run
Police are investigating a hit and run accident that occurred on 3/4/2014 at about 23:29 hrs at 6416 Carlisle Pike. A Dark Green late model Toyota Rav 4, possibly a 2009-2010 model similar to the pictured vehicle, struck another occupied vehicle in traffic and fled the scene. The Rav 4 should have heavy front end damage to include a broken / missing bumper, missing headlights and various other damage. Silver Spring Police Department is attempting to identify the above pictured three males.� The males are suspected of paintballing several cars in the parking lot at Wal-Mart on Feb 23rd.� The vehicle involved is an older model, white, 4 door sedan. Single vehicle crash leads to DUI arrest

Silver Spring Township Police were dispatched to the parking lot of the Silver Spring Square parking lot located at 6416 Carlisle Pike for a report of a single vehicle auto accident. Driver Ronald Swinn, of Marysville, displayed signs of intoxication and was arrested at the scene for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.

At approximately 740 pm on December 28th and unknown male stole a TV from WalMart. Police are asking for the publics assistance in identifying the actor. He was driving a gold or silver (POSSIBLY) Oldsmobile car that appears to have a sunroof. The Silver Spring Township Police Department, Cumberland County, has recovered a couple hundred items of stolen property from recent thefts. The thefts are believed to have occurred primarily in Silver Spring Township starting in mid September of this year. During the investigation, this agency has learned that some thefts have occurred elsewhere within York, Perry and Cumberland Counties.
Silver Spring Township Police encourage residents to continue to be vigilant and to report suspicious activity to police as soon as it’s observed. The Silver Spring Township Police are investigating the theft of 2 metal shelves from the rear of Wegmans Store. The shelves have wire sides, with solid metal shelves, red in color and have wheels. Retail Theft and Attempted Theft by Deception
The Silver Spring Township Police are seeking assistance from the public in identifying a white male who entered the Wal-Mart located at 6520 Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg, and removed two buckets of paint from display. The male first attempted to return the items at the Customer Service desk but then exited the store without making payment. The male fled the scene in silver Chrysler PT Cruiser bearing a temporary registration of ZDV-9467.

Silver Spring Township Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying 2 males stealing TVs from Wal*Mart. On 12/2/13 the male pictured on the left stole a TV and placed it in the bed of a gold or tan Toyota Tundra flareside (possibly a 2006). On 12/3/13 another male (not believed to be the first suspect) stole the same style TV as the individual on Dec. 2nd and placed it in the bed of, what is believed to be, the same truck as the incident on Dec. 2nd.

Retail theft from Wal-Mart
On November 22, 2013 at approximately 7:22 PM the above pictured female entered Wal-Mart, selected a Kitchen Aid mixer and left the store without paying.
The female is described as being white, 20-30 years old, 5’5” to 5’8” tall, 115 to 125 lbs and had long dark brown hair pulled into a pony tail. She was wearing blue jeans with holes in them and a black jacket with a hood which had fur around the edge.
The truck appears to be a dark colored, early to mid 1990’s, Ford F-150.� The truck may have a large dent of the passenger side above the rear wheel.

On 11-3-13 a customer entered Walmart 18:21 grabbing a cart on his way in. As soon as he entered the he turned left and selected a chainsaw. He then walked to other side of the lawn and garden department and selected 3 Razor scooters. He then leaves the cart and goes to the door to make sure there was no one watching. He then walks back into the store and collects the cart with the merchandise. He then walks out the garden center exit and loads the items in his car. Quick Change Scam
On October 23rd, 2013 Silver Spring Township Police were advised of a quick change scam that occurred at Walmart located at 6520 Carlisle Pike. On October 19, 2013 two black males entered the store. One of the black males was able to scam money from a cashier. Sliver Spring Twp Police are seeking the identity of this female in reference to theft, fraudulent credit card use and forgery which occurred on 7/25/13. This unknown female made purchases totaling $4,633.10 at the following businesses: Exxon and Wine and Spirits, both in Camp Hill, also Home Depot, Harbour House Crabs, Kmart, Toys r Us, and Best Buy, all in Mechanicsburg, as well as Target on Old Jones Town Rd. Some of the items purchased include multiple Playstation 3s, 2 nail guns valued at $400.00 each, a black Samsung Galaxy S 4 phone valued at $794.99 and multiple Gift cards to various restaurants an businesses.
Silver Spring Township Police are engaged in a joint investigation with the Ventnor City, NJ Police and the FBI involving a missing woman by the name of Rabihan Seiders, 53 years of age. Seiders sometimes uses her maiden name, Hasanova. Seiders can not be accounted for after the evening of March 27, 2012. Her last known whereabouts is suspected to be in Silver Spring Township, Mechanicsburg, PA. Some information leads police to believe she may be in Atlantic City/Venture City, NJ area.
